pOpUp MaGiC v.5 Beta
PURPOSE:
--------
For Fun - Entertainment of Friends - Displaying personalized messages by using macros.
Contains Kicks, greets, Love, Funny and a variety of other popups. 500+ Popups included
in the archive.
INSTALLTION:
------------
Method 1:
Use the enclosed Installation Script
Method 2:
1. Copy popupmagic.amirx to AMIRC:rexx/
2. In LIBS: you need rexxreqtools.library which you can download from AMINET
which is located: RexxReqTools.lha util/rexx 65K 247 1.3 - requester for ARex
3. Assign popups: to the directory you have all the popups in. I have Assign Popups: Amirc:popups
4. Create a button for Amirc or an Alias
a. As a Button I use gave it the name pOpUps and the action it takes is /rx popupmagic.amirx
b. As an Alias you can easily do /pop /rx popupmagic.amirx
USAGE:
------
Click on a username and hit your button or type your alias(Button really works better)
then select from the directory listing of popups. Some Popups may bring up a requester
where you can type in a message. What you put in this depends on each popup. Try them
out is the only way to know what to say.
Any popup ending in -Msg lets you put in a message Often you can do things like \====\ Message text /====/
and your message text that you type would appear in the middle.

CREATING POPUPS:

This is rather easy here too. Create a empty text file name is whatever you want the popup to be called
then place your text into it.
ie. /me hits $1 with a wet noodle.
Do NOT use Control-M to end your text(this seems to cause problems at this time)
MACRO DEFINITIONS IN POPUPS:
----------------------------
Standard PC Control-C / Control-K color codes are utilized in the text to display color to
IRC Programs that support color.
The Following Macros are acknowledged by the Popup interpreter (which is 100% written in arexx)
$1 | This is replaced by Selected Nick
$$1 | This is replaced by Selected Nick
$2 | This is replaced by 2nd user in the user list
$3 | This is replaced by 3rd user in the user list
$4 | This is replaced by 4th user in the user list
$5 | This is replaced by 5th user in the user list
$6 | This is replaced by 6th user in the user list
$7 | This is replaced by 7th user in the user list
$8 | This is replaced by 8th user in the user list
$9 | This is replaced by 9th user in the user list
$me | This is replaced by your Nick in the text.
$chan | This is replaced by the Channel Name in the text.
$$? | This causes a message requester to appear and the $$? is replaced by what you type in that requester. Best to keep messages short.
.timer | Timer is only recognized if it is last in the line it causes a delay before the next line is displayed.
Any irc command is avaiable through it such as
/sound
/voice
/op
/deop
/me
/notice
/msg
DO_NOTS:
--------
DO not USE $R or $Q in any of your popups. These are currently reserved for the Rainbow messages.
Will be implimenting other macros in future versions of pOpUp MaGiC.
AFTER INSTALLATION:

theres a few Aliases that you may enjoy. in the popups: directory pop popupmagicaliases-POPMEFIRST
this will add the following commands to your line
/smile
/angel
/mad
/kiss
/rose [nick]
/brb
/wb
/lol
/sad
after you do this, save your default settings if you like them.
ALSO TWO Special popups exist in the main part of the POPUPS: directory

RAINBOW -- Run this and a message requester will popup. Type your message in it and it will assign each word a
seperate color and display it
and
RAINBOW2 -- Run this and a message requester will popup. Type your message in it and it will change each
character to a different color, bold it and display on a black background.
NOTE*** COLORS ONLY SHOW UP TO ANOTHER USER WHO IS USING A COLOR CAPABLE IRC CLIENT.
AMIRC AT THIS TIME DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS. WOULD BE NICE IF IT DID. :( But Does not stop you from
Displaing color to others! Enhancing the overall irc experience or getting you banned for flooding. ;)
